Rebecca Romijn & Jerry O’Connell Are Trying To Get Pregnant

Rebecca Romijn, 35, and Jerry O’Connell, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on July 14th, are not expecting a baby – yet!
“We’re trying to get pregnant,” Jerry, 34, told People magazine Saturday at the Playboy Mansion, where he stepped out for Much Love Animal Rescue’s 2nd annual Bow Wow Wow event in Los Angeles. “It would be amazing if it happened. I hope it does.”
Jerry, who says trying to get pregnant is “a lot of fun,” brought along the couple’s dogs Taco and Better who he called “our babies.”
“It’s just such a great feeling you get when you rescue an animal,” he said. “They’re eternally grateful and they really trust you and they’re just the best.”
Besides, he said, “Pets are training for kids.”
Though the couple spent their first wedding anniversary apart – she was in New York and he was in L.A. – Jerry claims that their time apart may actually help their relationship.
“Being apart, you want to make the most of your time together,” he said. “And we really have a lot of fun together.”

It bothers me when people say that pets are “practice” for kids….they are NOTHING alike. People who only have pets and say that their dog or cat are their “babies” have NO idea the love that a parent feels for a child and also the work and responsibility! It goes WAY past feeding and cleaning up poop and playing fetch!! Oprah and Rachael Ray are always saying that their dogs are their kids. People think they love their animals as much as they might love a child, but it’s impossible. Nothing compares to the love of a parent for a child.

I think he means having sex is fun, and sex is what you have when you want to have babies. And maybe he’s announcing that they are “trying” to have kids, because he’s excited about it, and wants to tell people. It’s not really TMI. It’s just someone being happy and excited and in love. GOODLUCK TO THEM BOTH!
