The New Strawberry Shortcake Unveiled!
Strawberry Shortcake was having an identity crisis. The “it” doll and cartoon star of the 1980s was just not connecting with modern girls. Too candy-obsessed. Too ditzy. Too fond of wearing bloomers.
So American Greetings Properties, worked for a year on what it calls a “fruit-forward” makeover.
Strawberry Shortcake now prefers fresh fruit to gumdrops, appears to wear just a dab of lipstick (but no rouge), and spends her time chatting on a cellphone instead of brushing her calico cat, Custard. Her new look was unveiled Tuesday.
American Greetings is dusting off another of its lines, the Care Bears, which will return with a fresh look this fall with less belly fat and longer eyelashes.

Carmen Electra Hopes To Be A Mom Someday
Carmen Electra feels that motherhood can wait – for now.
“I hope to be a mom some day, but I’m not rushing to be one,” Carmen told People magazine at Shrine at MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut. “It would be a lot of fun. A lot of hard work, but I’ll look forward to it someday.”
Carmen took a detour from filming her latest movie Mardi Gras in New Orleans to meet fiancé Rob Patterson’s parents. “They’re really cool,” she said. “We had a great day today and … we’re looking forward to doing some dancing then going straight back to New Orleans.”
She may be getting back to work on her movie, but that’s not the only project Carmen, 36, has in the works. She will be releasing her own new line of portable stripper poles so ladies can get a work out Carmen style. “They’re so much fun,” she says. “I actually put one up in my living room with the help of a girlfriend.”
“Pole dancing really isn’t as easy as it looks,” she adds. “I’m still taking pointers. It’s a good workout.”
Hmmm…portable stripper poles?

Angela Kinsey & Husband Welcome A Daughter
Angela Kinsey (of The Office) and her husband, TV writer Warren Lieberstein, have welcomed a baby daughter!
Weighing 6 lbs., 14 oz., Isabel Ruby Lieberstein was born at 12:50 p.m. Saturday. Among those at the hospital were Angela’s mother, Bertie Kinsey, and the actress’s friend and castmate Jenna Fischer, according to Angela’s rep, Tess Finkle.
“Mom and baby are doing great!” said Finkle.
Angela, 36, announced her pregnancy on her MySpace blog last November.
“They say when you stop trying, that’s when it happens – and that’s how it went for us,” she wrote. Joking about taking prenatal yoga with costar Jenna Fischer, who injured her spine last year, she added: “Between her bad back and my belly, it is the perfect workout!”
Aside from cravings for ice-cold Snickers bars, it appears Angela’s’s pregnancy went like clockwork. After attending Angela’s girls-only baby shower in March–which featured tea sandwiches and white and pink roses–costar Kate Flannery told People magazine: “She is a very happy pregnant woman. One of the happiest . . . I have ever seen.”
