Britney Spears had an amazing, triumphant night at Sunday’s 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, taking home three awards, including Video of the Year.

After a short pre-taped skit with Superbad’s Jonah Hill, Britney, in sexy, sparkly halter dress, walked on stage as her hit “Baby One More Time” blared.

The audience stood and applauded.

“Thank you so much,” she told the crowd. “Thank you for all the love. This is the 2008 Video Music Awards, and it starts right now.”

Britney then playfully stuck out her tongue, and Rihanna hit the stage and performed her hit “Disturbia.”

Britney returned to the stage again to collect her first ever “moonman” for Best Female Video for “Piece of Me.”

“I’m speechless. Oh, my goodness, thank you!” a joyful Britney told the crowd. “I first wanna thank God for blessing me like this. My family … my two beautiful boys for inspiring me everyday.”

She later took home the award for Best Pop Video, saying she was “speechless” and thanking her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph.

She closed out the night by winning Video of the Year.

“I’m in shock right now,” she said. “I want to dedicate this to all my fans.”

While vacationing at Las Ventanas resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, in late July, Britney Spears debuted her new fit and fabulous figure.

In the new issue of OK! magazine, the young mother-of-two reveals how she successfully regained her lean physique and how she’s committed to being a healthy role model to her two young boys.

“I’m the healthiest I’ve been all my life,” Britney, 26, tolds OK! magazine. “My diet has a lot to do with my getting into shape. I have no sugar. I don’t eat fruit or even fruit juice because of the sugar. I eat chicken and salmon and rice. I eat avocados. I’ll have egg whites for breakfast and sometimes turkey burgers for lunch. I try to do just 1,200 calories a day. It may sound like it’s not much, but it’s actually a lot of food if you eat the right things.”

She also hits the gym on a regular basis, doing “lots of cardio and weights” five days a week.

Britney’s comittment to being healthy is applauded by trainers like Miami-based trainer and owner of SOMA Fitness & Performance, Adam Cronin. Adam, who has not worked with the pop star, says Britney’s routine of following a 1,200-calorie-a-day, high-protein meal plan is ideal for someone who wants to drop pounds in a safe, healthy way.

“If you follow a vigorous workout program — plus this eating program — it is possible to lose up to 12 pounds in 30 days, in a very healthy, non fad-like way,” Adam told OK! magazine.

Britney sat down with OK! magazine to talk about her two adorable sons, her father and the future of her nearly sidetracked career.

Having spent her young life in the spotlight, Britney, 26, told OK! that she hopes her boys steer clear of a career in entertainment. “I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to,” she explained. “I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.

Perhaps some of Britney’s reluctance comes from seeing her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, have to face so much public scrutiny over her recent pregnancy. “I was shocked a little bit,” said Britney. “She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling.”

Britney also told OK! that she wants her boys to be close to her newborn niece. “I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie,” she said.

Britney’s downward spiral in recent years ultimately helped to heal her relationship with her parents.

“God has a way of taking something bad and turning it into something good,” explained Britney’s dad Jamie. “If this hadn’t happened, I would never have been able to get back with my daughter and have this relationship I have with these two little boys.”

Britney also has a new album which she expects to hit stores in six to nine months. “I think it is more urban,” she told OK!. “I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room… This is my best work ever.”

Britney, 26, made a surprise appearance at a fundraiser for Jenny McCarthy’s autism charity Generation Rescue in LA on Saturday.

As guests like Jim Carrey and Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller made the rounds, Britney sipped on red wine.

Jim’s daughter Jane also belted out a few Frank Sinatra and Jackson 5 tunes.

Britney ”definitely looked happy,” a witness told Us magazine. “She was clapping and smiling a lot.”

It was Britney’ first public outing since reaching a custody agreement with ex Kevin Federline last week.

While Kevin gets sole custody, Britney gets three visits a week from Sean Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden James, 1 1/2, including two overnights.

If all goes well, she could have her boys roughly 40 percent of the time, her attorney, Laura Wasser, has said.

Laura Wasser told the Associated Press the “difference” in Britney “from the beginning of this year to now is astonishing.”

Britney is spending her summer recording a new album.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s custody war is finally over.

Britney and Kevin have reached a custody settlement and a truce will be signed Friday giving Kevin sole legal and physical custody of the couple’s two toddler sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. He will also receive an additional $5,000 in monthly child support — for a total of $20,000 per month — from Britney.

Britney, meanwhile, will now have three visits a week from the kids, with at least two overnight visits, her attorney, Laura Wasser, told The Associated Press.

Jamie Lynn welcomed her daughter , Maddie Briann Aldridge, on June 19th.

Jamie Lynn shared with OK! magazine that being away from the shining lights of Hollywood is making it all easier to learn the ins and outs of first-time motherhood. “Around here, everyone has the same focus,” Jamie Lynn told OK! magazine. “The focus is family, and that’s a good way to live.”

“They’d told me it would be an eight- to 12-hour labor, and I was ready to have the baby in three to four hours,” Jamie Lynn told OK! magazine. “I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed.”

Whie Jamie Lynn, 17, and her fiancé have not yet set a date for their wedding, the couple remains closer than ever. Jamie Lynn, who told OK! magazinethat while her labor was induced, she gave birth naturally and without complications, says that Casey was the one person she wanted in the delivery room with her.

“Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all,” she said. “I was just talking to Casey. And you know what’s so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, ‘Yeah.’ We were both so excited.”

A baby nursery is set up for little Maddie at the other end of the house, but for now her proud parents like having her next to them at night, so she sleeps in a bassinet in the same room as Jamie Lynn and Casey.

“She is very good,” said Jamie Lynn. “She’ll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I’ll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There’s no screaming and crying.”

The proud mother continued, “We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I’ve worked one out with her, and we’re happy going about our little life.”

Britney Spears wants to move from her L.A. house to “a lower density, more quiet and less trafficked neighborhood,” according to a court document filed by her co-conservators, father Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet.

Britney would like a home “more accessible to parks and recreation areas” for her children, Sean Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden James, 1 1/2, the document says.

Saturday night was the first time Sean and Jayden spent an overnight visit with Britney, 26, since she was hospitalized at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in January.

The sale of her L.A. home would be in “the best interest of [Britney], her Estate and her minor children,” the document says.

Earlier this month, Britney was granted permission to sell the six-bedroom home. At the time, mom Lynne told the court that her daughter “intends to return to Louisiana,” her home state.

Meanwhile, Britney and ex Kevin Federline are preparing for a custody trial, set to begin on August 25th. Kevin currently has primary custody of their children.

Doctors are preparing Jamie Lynn Spears for a C-section due to complications in her pregnancy, The Enquirer is reporting.

The 17 year-old star of  Zoey 101 had an ultrasound last week, indicating her baby may be in  breech position..

Jamie Lynn’s family members including the baby’s father, Casey Aldridge, are gathering at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Ms.

Britney and her father Jamie left Los Angeles Wednesday morning on a commercial flight to join Jamie Lynn.

Earlier tests showed that the baby is a girl and Jamie Lynn and Casey plan to name their new baby a combination of both their names – Cailynn or Cassie.

In anticipation of her baby’s arrival, Jamie Lynn has been preparing her nursery – with its pink, brown and “silver-green” color scheme – and buying furniture with her mother, Lynne, 53.
