Until recently, Jennifer and husband Marc Anthony, who welcomed twins Max and Emme in February, didn’t have a nanny to help out with child care.

“I did it for a long time but we started using a nanny a few weeks ago,” said Jennifer, 39. “[Most days] I get up early with them. Then when the nanny comes, I can take a shower and give them their breakfast. She’s there to help me get things done.”

As for getting back to work, Jennifer says she’ll take it a day at a time. “It’s gonna be a learning experience. How will I do both? I try to take breaks from work,” she told People magazine. “I’ll do a little work with the choreographers and then come back. I try to spend every free moment with the babies.”

The mornings are her favorite time with the twins. “When they see you and have that big smile on their face – I live for that,” she said. “And when I put them to bed at night and they melt in your arms. I give them a bottle and wind it down. I say, ‘It’s time for beddy-bye.’ I hold them and sing a little song. By the time you know it, they are asleep.”

And Jennifer is perfectly happy with her post-baby body. “The triathlon really helped get me in better shape, and snapped me back into my body,” she said, referring to last weekend’s Nautica Malibu Triathlon. “I don’t weigh myself a lot. I still have 10 lbs., or so. [But] I don’t have any problems with it. I never felt I had to get rid of it.”

Asked how she stays so sane about her body image, she laughed: “We like to eat!” On a serious note, she added, “I think you have to love yourself and indulge when you want to, as well as be happy and just have a healthy attitude towards it.”

Besides, she noted, “Marc loves the way I look!”

Jennifer Lopez, 39, says she was “selfish” for the first time in her life while she was pregnant with twins Max and Emme, who are now 6 months old.

Midway through her pregnancy, Jennifer had just finished her concert tour with husband Marc Anthony last fall when she told him she needed him to take the reins, she tells Elle magazine in its October issue. “I said, ‘I did the superwoman thing, I finished the tour – now I need you to take care of me,’” said Jennifer.

“‘I love doing things for you; if I’m not cooking, then I’m picking out a shirt. But this is the first time in my life where I’m just going to be a little bit selfish,’” she told Marc, who turns 40 on September 16th. “‘I don’t know if I’m going to have kids again, so I want it to be a beautiful experience. I don’t want to have any drama. I want to just be smiling every day.’”

The actress, who is currently training for her first triathalon, says she and Marc didn’t worry when she didn’t get pregnant right away. “We knew nothing was wrong with either one of us – I had been checked, and he had kids already,” she told Elle. “I knew [that] something’s not ready here, in my head or in my life, and when it is, I know it’s going to happen.”

As for the moment she realized she was pregnant, she reveals, “I was sitting down doing hair and makeup and I felt a flutter. The weirdest little … flourish. My makeup artist said ‘What’s the matter?’ I didn’t say anything, but in my head, I was like, I have life inside me!”

Two weeks before giving birth, Jennifer commissioned a special gift for her husband – a book of photos of herself. Says Lopez: “I was like, ‘How am I going to rock this moment of my life? … I felt very womanly. Marc was in a dream. He loved it.”

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were snapped arriving in Zaventem, Belgium on Wednesday with their nearly 4-month-old twins Emme and Max. The family is in the country for Marc’s performance Thursday in Antwerp.

It wasn’t easy leaving little Max and Emme to attend Monday’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in NYC.

“They’re missing us!” Marc Anthony told Us magazine of their newborn babies.

The twins are “fantastic!” added a glowing Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer — who showed off her post-baby bod in a one-shoulder Alberta Ferretti frock — spent time with pals Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and David and Victoria Beckham at the bash.

Jennifer and Marc welcomed their babies on February 22nd in New York’s Long Island.

She has said she’s unsure whether she’ll be a working mom.

“I don’t know — and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.

She’s signed on for the movie Love and Other Possible Pursuits, which begins shooting later this year.

Jennifer Lopez has a new deal with TLC: A reality series starring her and new babies.
