Katie and Suri, 3, were snapped on the North Fork of Long Island on Friday during the production of Katie’s new movie. Suri was snapped clutching a stuffed squirrel friend and was clearly excited for her play date with another little girl.

On Wednesday Katie Holmes, 30, was photographed bottle-feeding daughter Suri on the New York set of her new movie, The Romantics.
According to the experts, Suri, 3, should not still be hitting the bottle. (Suri will celebrate her fourth birthday on April 18th.)
“She should have been weaned off the bottle by the time she was nine months old,” Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of Food Fights, told Us magazine. “By the time kids are nine months old, they have the physical development and mouth coordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw. That development comes pretty early.”
Dr. Jennifer Shu says she doesn’t “know why” Tom Cruise and Katie still allow Suri to use a bottle. “You don’t force kids to crawl when they can walk,” Dr. Jennifer Shu told Us magazine.
Dr. Harvey Karp – a pediatrician, child development specialist and creator of the DVD and book, The Happiest Toddler on the Block – doesn’t think it’s such a big deal.
“Sucking is normal for kids when they are tired or bored — as long as kids aren’t keeping the bottle in their mouths for hours” he told Us magazine, adding that it may serve as an emotional security device. “Thumb-sucking is more damaging.”
But Dr. Jennifer Shu told Us magazine that if Suri is using the bottle out of comfort, her parents should “transition her to a different security object that doesn’t cause cavities,” such as a blanket or a Teddy bear.

Katie Holmes receives style guidance from Suri!
At Elle magazine’s Women in Hollywood Tribute Monday night in Beverly Hills, Katie, 30, confirmed to Us magazine that her fashion-forward daughter, 3, helped pick out her clothes for the night — as is usually the case.
“She did!” she told Us magazine on the red carpet. And what did Suri think of her Alaia gown, Hermes bag and Givenchy shoes? “She gave me a big thumbs up!”
“She loves clothes and picks out her own,” Katie said of Suri, who also takes after her mother’s favorite workout routines. “She loves running and she loves dancing,” Katie said.
Sources close to the family have noted to Us magazine that girly-girl Suri “hates jeans” and favors dresses (with heels!) from labels like Juicy Couture and Polka.
“Suri makes the rules and Tom and Katie go along with it,” a pal said.
Added another: “She is not a spoiled brat, but she is the center of their universe.”

Katie Holmes, 30, opened up in the November issue of Elle magazine about the importance of family. Katie is not your typical “Hollywood mom!”
On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”
On life as a working mom on the Broadway set of All My Sons: “Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.“
On fashion: “I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron.
On the genre of film she loves most: “It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I’m not interested.”
