UPDATE: The rwin girls are named Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tuli, and were born on December 28th.

“Mother, father and both girls are all home and doing well,” said Rebecca’s rep.

“They had twin girls, Dolly and Charlie,” Howard Stern said. “Rebecca likes Dolly Parton, so they named the one after Dolly Parton, and Jerry got to name the other one Charlie, but his brother’s name is Charlie — and it’s a girl Charlie.”

Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O’Connell have welcomed twin girls, Howard Stern announced on his Sirius radio show Monday morning.

Shortly after Rebecca’s pregnancy was announced, Jerry, 34, joked that he was already feeling protective of his unborn daughters.

“Just the fact that they’re girls, you know?” he told Us magazine. “I don’t want them to date. They’re only allowed to date men who run countries. They’re only allowed to date men who are heir to the throne or are currently running a nation.”

In November, Rebecca, 36, told Page Six magazine she was ready to give birth. (She had to skip friend Howard Stern’s October wedding because she was put on bed rest.)

“I can’t move anymore… I’m a beached whale!” she said. “I have not been without a bra this entire pregnancy. I refuse. I’m not taking any chances. I’m determined to keep the puppies up!”

She also revealed that the twins were conceived without the help of in vitro fertilization or the fertility drug Clomid.

“A year ago, we tried Clomid for a couple of months unsuccessfully,” Rebecca said. “But by the second month, I was like, ‘Ahhh! I hate this!’ I think when you start messing with your own hormones, it’s crazy-making.”

Having babies is a dream, she added.

“I was never a girl who dreamed about what her wedding day would be like, but I’ve always dreamed about decorating my baby’s nursery.”

And Jerry will make a “fantastic dad,” she said. “He’s a pragmatic, smart, savvy, enthusiastic person. He really lives his life with tremendous integrity, and he’s a healthy person in every single way.”

Rebecca and Jerry “are going to be the most fun, zany parents in California,” Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams told Us magazine in September. “The kids are going to be gorgeous.

“And she’s smart, she’s talented, she’s funny, and she’s well grounded,” Vanessa added. “That’s what you need to be to be a great mom and raise great kids.”

An expectant Rebecca Romijn is amazed at how big her bump has gotten! Rebecca is expecting twin girls this winter.

Jerry and Rebecca are expecting twins girls and have been thinking about possible names for their daughters.

“We were joking about calling them Mary-Kate and Ashley,” Jerry, 34, revealed to Entertainment Tonight.

“I’m not kidding,” he said of copying the Olsens’ names. “I really thought about that.”

Jerry explained he and Rebecca, 35, were also considering “maybe rhyming” the monikers.

“But then, is that a little Hansel & Gretel?” he asked.

Jerry said he “can’t wait” to welcome the tots.

“[Rebecca's] about five months pregnant… getting big!” he told ET.

“I’m really excited about having girls,” he said. “I know guys are supposed to say, ‘I want a boy,’ [but] I just have a feeling I’m going to be good with girls.

“I’m just going to raise a couple of assassins,” he added. “They’re going to be tough chicks!”

But Jerry will be strict.

“They are only having sex when I die,” he said. “If they don’t date boys at all, and just want to be infatuated with their father, that is what I am really going for.”

An expectant (with twins!) Rebecca Romijn has been experiencing pregnancy cravings.

“A lot of ice cream!” her husband Jerry O’Connell shared with Access Hollywood. “And not any one particular brand … a lot of the different ones at Ben and Jerry’s, but also other crazy brands.

“That’s all you can really do as the man … go out and get food,” Jerry added. “I’m not really carrying anything, I’m not really putting on any extra weight, I’m just sorta trying to help out as much as possible.”

He said expecting two is “very exciting.”

“My father’s side, there [are] actually two sets of twins over there, back in the motherland of Ireland,” he said. “[Having children] is something we really worked hard at, and it’s just happened. We’re blessed.”

The babies are due this winter.

When Rebecca Romijn announced her baby joy to her Ugly Betty costars they were thrilled.

“We’re so excited,” said Ugly Betty star America Ferrera at Monday’s New York City premiere of her movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.

“I’m so happy for them,” gushed America, 24. “They’re going to be the best parents. I don’t think there could be a more wonderful father to girls.”

America added, “I just am waiting to see how tall those girls are going to be. I think they’re going to be born my height.”

Vanessa Williams has even started shopping. “I’ve already gotten them organic cotton baby clothes from Green Babies to start them off right,” Vanessa, 45, told People magazine. “Rebecca is glowing, and Jerry will make a really fun daddy.”

“She was more excited than you can imagine. Jerry’s a great guy. And they laugh so much, and they have so much fun together,” added Becki Newton.

The show’s cast is in the middle of quite a baby boom. Besides Rebecca, Eric Mabius is expecting his second child come fall, and Christopher Gorham’s third is due in January.

Costar Ana Ortiz said that Rebecca is “blissfully happy” to be expecting two babies. “She’s such a mom already. She has that Mama-Bear thing, always watching out for us, and she’s a hoot,” said Ana. As for Jerry? “Jerry is going to spoil them completely rotten.”

“They’re not going to be the uptight kind of parents, ‘You can’t do this, you can’t do that,’ “ shared Mark Indelicato, 14, who plays Justin Suarez on the show. “They’re going to be awesome parents. They love to have fun. But they still have boundaries. And they live in the coolest place ever in L.A.”

“I’m a cheap babysitter,” added Mark. “I only charge five bucks an hour.”

UPDATE: A source has revealed that both babies will be girls!

Rebecca Romijn-O’Connell and her husband, Jerry O’Connell, are expecting twins, their rep has confirmed!

The babies are due this winter.

Rebecca and Jerry were married on July 15th, 2007.

Rebecca, 35, recently told Self magazine she hoped to be “lucky enough” to have kids.

And just a little more than a week ago, Jerry, 34, said, “We’re trying to get pregnant.”

“It would be amazing if it happened,” he said, adding that practicing has been “a lot of fun.”

What wonderful news! They have made no secret of their baby wish for quite some time, as evidenced here, here and here!

Rebecca Romijn, 35, and Jerry O’Connell, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on July 14th, are not expecting a baby – yet!

“We’re trying to get pregnant,” Jerry, 34, told People magazine Saturday at the Playboy Mansion, where he stepped out for Much Love Animal Rescue’s 2nd annual Bow Wow Wow event in Los Angeles. “It would be amazing if it happened. I hope it does.”

Jerry, who says trying to get pregnant is “a lot of fun,” brought along the couple’s dogs Taco and Better who he called “our babies.”

“It’s just such a great feeling you get when you rescue an animal,” he said. “They’re eternally grateful and they really trust you and they’re just the best.”

Besides, he said, “Pets are training for kids.”

Though the couple spent their first wedding anniversary apart – she was in New York and he was in L.A. – Jerry claims that their time apart may actually help their relationship.

“Being apart, you want to make the most of your time together,” he said. “And we really have a lot of fun together.”

Jerry was snapped with wife Rebecca Romijn at The Edendale Grill in Los Angeles on Sunday where the two celebrated Rebecca’s 35th birthday with friends.

Jerry told USA Today:

“When you’re married to Rebecca Romijn, you should try to have as many children as possible. And I want to do that before she figures out that she could do a lot better than me.”

Hmmm…I wonder when they will start having children.
