Spain’s Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia, 36, were snapped taking their daughter Sofia, 2, to her first day of nursery school in El Pardo, outside Madrid, on September 11th.

He’s only a week old but actress AJ Langer’s son, Jack Haydon Langer Courtenay, already has some big shoes to fill.

Jack, born Aug. 16 in Los Angeles, becomes second in line to the English title “Lord Devon” – dad Charlie Courtenay is the son and heir of Earl of Devon – which dates back to the 16th century during the reign of Mary Tudor, Henry VIII’s oldest daughter.

Langer, 35, best known for her role as Rayanne on the TV series My So-Called Life, married Courtenay, an L.A. lawyer and the future Earl of Devon, in 2004. “We met in a bar in Vegas,” Langer has said. “He didn’t know I was an actress. I didn’t know he had a castle.”

The couple, who also have a 2-year-old daughter, Joscelyn Skye, plan to move to the Powderham Castle in Devon, England, where the proud grandparents raised a blue pennant on the flag pole in Jack’s honor.

Denmark’s royal palace shared that French-born Princess Marie has given birth to her first child, a son.

The palace shared that Prince Joachim was present during the birth in the early morning of May 4th, and that the 33-year-old princess and her son are both doing fine.

The announcement said that the baby weighed 6.67 pounds and measured 19.6 inches.

Joachim and Marie married in May 2008. The newborn is the couple’s first child, and seventh in line to Denmark’s throne.

The 39-year-old Joachim has two sons from a previous marriage with Hong Kong-born Alexandra Manley.

As is the custom for the royal family, the child’s name will not be revealed until his christening. And Joachim discreetly sidestepped inquiries about it when he talked to the press.

One detail Joachim did share was his emotional reaction to the birth. He admitted to shedding a tear, telling journalists he “went through a fantastic moment like any father who watches his child being born”.

“He is a little smaller than me and looks just as new-born male children do. We can wonder from here to eternity who he resembles, but he resembles himself,” the smiling father said when asked which of the happy parents his new baby looks like.

With only a month left to go before the arrival of the newest addition to the Danish royal family, an expectant Princess Marie, 33, was snapped at a parade to mark the 60th anniversary of the country’s Home Guard in Denmark. Princess Marie is married to Prince Joachim of Denmark.

Prince Bernhard van Vollenhoven and his wife Princess Annette christened their seven-month-old son Benjamin over the weekend. Among the guests were Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, who is Prince Bernhard’s aunt, and his sister-in-law Princess Maxima.

Maxima’s daughters – Catherine, 4, 3-year-old Alexia and Ariane, 1 – had a chance at the ceremony to get reacqainted with their cousins, the three young children of Beatrix’s third son, Prince Constantijn and his wife Laurentien.

Also joining the gathering at the former royal residence of Het Loo was Prince Bernhard’s older brother Prince Maurits and his family. The siblings – whose mum is Queen Beatrix’s Canada-born younger sister Princess Margriet- were also reunited with their youngest brother Prince Floris.

Eleventh in line to the Dutch throne and a self-employed entrepreneur, Prince Bernhard – who is also dad to Isabella, 6, and 4-year-old Samuel – lives with his young family in Amsterdam.

Proud parents Princess Martha Louise of Norway and her husband Ari Behn introduced the newest member of the Norwegian royal family in adorable pics which show big sisters Maud and Leah attentively looking on.

The images were released to celebrate the arrival on Monday (September 29th) of Emma Tallulah, the couple’s third daughter.

“The birth took place at the couple’s home (just outside Oslo),” said the palace, adding mother and baby were both well.

Martha Louise, who is the only daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonja, gave up the title of ‘royal highness’ upon her 2002 marriage to writer Ari, and has a reputation for not standing on ceremony. The natural photo of the new arrival, taken by Emma Tallulah’s dad, reflects the couple’s low-key approach to their royal connections.
